I explore and challenge the limits of painting to create new pictorial experiences. Whilst maintaining a maximum level of simplicity and through a management of resources, I create devices to manipulate matter and I am constantly experimenting with materials and application processes. My work favors a formal approach which integrates the idea of labour and the tools of production. The results highlight the thoughtful material research and the intricate and patient studio work – generated equally by the medium and the structure of the support. Materials randomly invest the surfaces through the poetic fluctuation of time marked by flow and movement.
My work has recently been exhibited at la Maison de la culture Claude Léveillée, in a retrospective exhibition entitled Récit d’un parcours plastique. I exhibited broadly in Canada; at Galerie Antoine Ertaskiran (Montreal), Christie Contemporary (Toronto), the Karsh-Masson Gallery (Ottawa), the BIEC (Trois Rivières) and at the Dunlop Art Gallery (Regina); amongst others. Over the years, I have been the recipient of several grants and have participated in many residency projects in Canada and in France. I was an RBC Painting Competition finalist in 2006. My work can be found in numerous private, corporate and public collections, and I am represented by Galerie Bradley Ertaskiran (Montreal).
